I think we can all remember when Crocs were on top. Back in the early to mid 2000s painted over every household garden and decked out by children dressed in pyjama like clothes, ready to stand too close to the end of escalators to jam the whole escalator system.

Crocs are made from a foam resin called Croslite – commonly known as foam rubber, which is non-toxic. They can be decorated with little figures (later to my knowledge Jibbetz) you can decorate your Crocs with, that acted as a huge chocking hazard, especially to my own childhood curiosity.

So why has such a huge fan base of the previously associated fashion no-no, suddenly end up walking the runway of Balenciaga and have collaborations with Christopher Kane.
Your guess is as good as mine.

Since the ugly trend has taken over the Millennial – Gen Z fashion grapevine, social media cults have made a unanimous decisions and accepting Crocs’ into their look book of now bold experimental pieces at just as courageous prices. Previously filing for bankruptcy, Crocs’ have been able to make a 180 change, owing much thanks for their collaboration with Balenciaga. Luxury powerhouse famous for their unorthodox, head-turning product ranges.

Listening to the dislikes of their haters on how chunky these shoes can be and magnifying this characteristic that is so iconic of a pair of Crocs. Creating as I would dub the chunkiest and clunkiest shoes you would EVER find. And the cost? 850$ (700£).

Balenciaga x Croc stilettos also been sneak-peaked through the Balenciaga Instagram. However, no price has been released. But showing from the contrasting steep price the platform Crocs were priced at, we can only imagine these stilettos to be priced upwards from there.

Many shoes, particularly hyped and luxury, tend to be worn for minimal movement functions. So despite the fact, Crocs are known to make your feet sweat, owners of these shoes won’t need to worry much about the functionality of these shoes.

Preferably best to be used as show pieces, similar to the YSL Opyum heels and the jaw dropping Rollerblade stilettos. Wearers won’t need to worry about any impending orthopedic pains you might feel from the lack of arch support. Even though no one actually cares about that.

However crazy these shoes might seem, my personal opinion explores that there’s actually a lot of uncharted territory to be explored with Crocs in particular. 
The gummy texture of the shoe and it’s outright bulkiness just speaks to the inner Gen-Z in me. 

Lets take on the challenge: Change mine and everyone’s opinion on Crocs. 

After all… If dad shoes and saddle bags looking like bike seats are back in, there’s no saying how far an inflated boat sandal can go.

Had so much fun styling these looks. Surprisingly Crocs are a lot easier to style that expected.
